시인 정병수 목사는  2023년 가을, 전북 부안 변산반도 도립공원 '채석강 해식절벽'을 방문하고 쓴 시를  영시로 옮겼다고 한다.  정 목사는 "우리말과 글의 섬세한 감성을 영어로 표현하기는 불가능하지만, 단어를 찾아 고르며 애써봤으나 역시 미흡하여,  원문 시를 다시 첨부했다"  정목사는 "역시 시는 우리말과 글로해야 하나, 그래도 영어 시는 나름대로 맛이 있다"고 전했다.

깨지고 깎이며/ 
억만 세월 울었다/ 
거친 파도에 부푼 두 손/
다친 몸은/ 
몰아치는 비비람에/ 
젖은 가슴은

솜 같은 봄바람에도/ 
쓰라린 생채기/
따스한 봄볕도 슬픈 피멍울/
또다시 억만 세월/
하늘 보고 땅을 보며/ 
매만지고 매만져

음표 하나 없이도/ 
감미로운 선율의 노래가 되고/
시어 하나 몰라도/ 
고고(孤高)한 선비/
한 편의 시로/ 
새로 남이여

저만치 파도에/ 
시와 노래가 또 밀려온다.

Broken and chipped/
I cried for billions of years/
Two hands swollen by rough waves/
the injured body/
In the driving rain and wind/
wet chest

Even in the cottony spring breeze/
bitter scratch/
Even the warm spring sunlight is a sad blood lump/
Another billion years/
looking at the sky
and looking at the ground/
Touch me and touch up

Without even a single note/
It becomes a song with a sweet melody/
Even if don’t know a word of poetry/
a noble scholar/

be born again

Over there, in waves so big/
