A Prayer for South Korea on the Occasion of the Lunar New Year at the Rocky Mountains
1. 여는 기도문: 하나님의 은혜에 감사
사랑과 자비가 충만하신 하나님 아버지,
새해를 맞아 대한민국과 온 민족이 설 명절을 지낼 수 있게 하심에 감사드립니다.
이 시간이 즐거운 명절이 아니라, 주님의 사랑과 은혜를 기억하고 나누는 복된 시간이 되게 하소서.
우리의 가정과 교회, 국가와 세계가 주님의 뜻 안에서 하나 되어 새롭게 변화되도록 인도하여 주소서.
1. Opening Prayer: Gratitude for God's Grace
Dear Heavenly Father, full of love and mercy,
We thank You for allowing South Korea and the whole nation to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
May this time not just be a joyful holiday, but a blessed time to remember and share Your love and grace.
Guide our families, churches, nation, and the world to unite and be renewed according to Your will.
2. 그리운 고향과 보고픈 가족 친지를 위한 기도
"네 하나님 여호와께서 네게 주신 땅에서 네 부모를 공경하라 그리하면 네 생명이 길고 복을 누리리라" (출애굽기 20:12).
오랜만에 고향을 찾는 자들에게 안전한 길을 인도하시고, 가족과 친지들이 서로 사랑으로 하나 되게 하소서.
고향을 떠나있는 이들이 외로움을 느낄 때, 주님께서 위로하여 주시고 어디에서든지 평안과 기쁨을 누리게 하소서.
2. Prayer for Longed-for Hometowns and Family Members
"Honor your father and mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you." (Exodus 20:12)
Guide those who are returning to their hometowns safely, and may families and relatives come together in love.
When those away from home feel loneliness, comfort them, and may they experience peace and joy wherever they are.
3. 소외되고 어려운 이웃을 위한 기도
"주께서 마음이 상한 자를 고치시며 그들의 상처를 싸매시는도다" (시편 147:3).
명절에도 외롭게 지내는 노인, 가난한 자, 병든 자, 갇힌 자들에게 주님의 따뜻한 위로와 소망을 허락하소서.
그들을 돌보는 손길들이 많아지게 하시고, 교회와 사회가 함께 사랑을 실천하는 지역 공동체가 되게 하소서.
3. Prayer for the Marginalized and Suffering Neighbors
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." (Psalm 147:3)
Lord, grant Your warm comfort and hope to the elderly, the poor, the sick, and the imprisoned who spend the holiday in solitude.
May there be more hands to care for them, and may the church and society become a community of love that practices compassion.
4. 머나먼 이국땅, 해외 동포와 선교사를 위한 기도
"너희는 여러 나라 가운데서 나의 증인이 되리라" (사도행전 1:8).
이국땅에서 설을 맞이하는 해외 교포들과 선교사들을 기억하시고, 그들이 있는 곳에서 주님의 빛과 소금이 되게 하소서.
그들의 수고를 헛되지 않게 하시고, 영육 간에 강건함과 안전 보호를 더하여 주소서.
4. Prayer for Overseas Koreans and Missionaries in Distant Lands
"You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8)
Remember the overseas Koreans and missionaries who are celebrating the New Year in foreign lands, and may they be the light and salt where they are.
May their labor not be in vain, and may You grant them strength, health, and protection.
5. 탄핵 정국 상황에 국가와 정치 상황을 위한 기도
"그 땅을 위하여 평안을 구하고 그 성읍이 평안함으로 너희도 평안할 것이니라" (예레미야 29:7).
하나님, 대한민국을 긍휼히 여기시고 정치, 경제, 사회 모든 영역에서 주님의 공의와 사랑이 실현되게 하소서.
특히 탄핵 정국으로 인한 혼란과 갈등 속에서도 정의와 진리가 바로 서고, 대통령, 국회의원들, 행정부처, 사법부, 검찰 등이 사리사욕과 당리당약을 벗어나 정의와 공의을 실현할 수 있도록 주님께서 친히 엄히 이 나라를 다스려 주옵소서.
5. Prayer for the Nation and Political Situation Amid Impeachment Crisis
"Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper." (Jeremiah 29:7)
Lord, have mercy on South Korea. May Your justice and love be realized in all areas—politics, economy, and society.
In the midst of the turmoil and conflict caused by the impeachment crisis, may truth and justice prevail. May the President, members of parliament, government departments, judiciary, and prosecutors rise above personal desires and party politics and carry out justice and righteousness.
6. 국토방위와 사회 안정 질서를 위한 기도
"내가 네 이름을 불렀나니 너는 내 것이라" (이사야 43:1).
국군 장병들에게 용기와 힘을 더하여 주시고, 국가 치안을 지키는 경찰 공무원들에게 정의와 용기와 판단력을 허락하여 주옵소서.
다음세대 교육을 담당하는 모든 교육자과 국가의 공복인 공무원들이 최선을 다하여 자신의 직임에 충실하게 하옵소서
6. Prayer for National Defense and Social Stability
"I have called you by name; you are mine." (Isaiah 43:1)
Grant courage and strength to our military service members, and grant justice, courage, and discernment to our police officers who protect national security.
May all educators who are responsible for the future of our children and public servants fulfill their duties with dedication and excellence.
7. 모든 교파를 초월한 교회와 연합을 위한 기도
"너희는 세상의 빛이라 산 위에 있는 동네가 숨겨지지 못할 것이요" (마태복음 5:14).
대한민국의 교회가 예수 그리스도의 복음을 바르게 전하고, 사랑과 화합의 본이 되게 하소서.
특히 설 명절 동안 소외된 이웃을 돌보며 주님의 사랑을 실천하는 공동체가 되게 하소서.
정치적 이념에 따라 분열되지 않고, 복음에는 국경이 없지만 그리스도인에게는 국가아 있는 기본 정신을 잃지 않게 하소서.
7. Prayer for Church Unity Beyond Denominations
"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden." (Matthew 5:14)
May the churches of South Korea faithfully proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and be models of love and unity.
Especially during the Lunar New Year, may we become communities that practice the love of Christ by caring for the marginalized.
May we not be divided by political ideologies, and may we hold on to the fundamental spirit that, while the gospel has no borders, Christians have a nation.
8. 다음 세대의 장래와 비전 위한 기도
"너는 청년의 때에 너의 창조주를 기억하라" (전도서 12:1).
청년들과 다음 세대가 주님을 의지하고, 하나님 나라를 위해 준비되게 하소서.
어려운 경제 상황 속에서도 절망하지 않고, 소망 가운데 나아가게 하소서.
젊은이들이 실력을 키우고 바른 국가관과 세계관으로 무장되어 미래의 주역들이 되게 하소서.
8. Prayer for the Future and Vision of the Next Generation
"Remember your Creator in the days of your youth." (Ecclesiastes 12:1)
May the youth and the next generation depend on You and be prepared for Your kingdom.
In the midst of difficult economic circumstances, may they not despair, but move forward with hope.
May they develop their talents and be equipped with a righteous national view and worldview to become the leaders of the future.
9. 경제적 어려움을 겪는 이들을 위한 기도
"내 하나님이 그리스도 예수 안에서 영광 가운데 그 풍성한 대로 너희 모든 쓸 것을 채우시리라" (빌립보서 4:19).
경제적 어려움과 실업으로 힘들어하는 이들을 도우시고, 필요한 것을 채워 주소서.
국가 경제가 회복되며, 모든 사람이 공평한 기회를 누릴 수 있도록 인도하소서.
수출이 잘 열리게 하시고, 환율이 안정되게 하시고, 국가 산업에 큰 발전과 번영이 오게 하소서.
9. Prayer for Those Facing Economic Hardship
"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)
Lord, help those struggling with economic hardships and unemployment, and provide for their needs.
Guide the recovery of our nation's economy, and may every person have an equal opportunity to thrive.
Open new opportunities for exports, stabilize exchange rates, and bring prosperity and development to our national industries.
10. 이웃과 서로간에 관계 회복을 위한 기도
"서로 인자하게 하며 불쌍히 여기며 서로 용서하기를 하나님이 그리스도 안에서 너희를 용서하심과 같이 하라" (에베소서 4:32).
가족과 친지 간에 오해와 갈등이 있다면, 이 명절을 통해 화해와 용서가 이루어지게 하소서.
개인과 개인, 이웃과 이웃, 지역과 지역, 진영과 진영 사이에 무너지고 꺠어진 관계가 십자가 복음으로 치유되게 하시고, 서로 사랑으로 감싸며, 주님의 은혜를 나누는 시간이 되게 하소서.
10. Prayer for the Restoration of Relationships Between Neighbors
"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." (Ephesians 4:32)
If there are misunderstandings or conflicts between families or relatives, may reconciliation and forgiveness take place during this holiday.
May broken relationships—between individuals, neighbors, regions, and opposing factions—be healed by the gospel of the cross, and may we embrace each other in love and share Your grace.
11. 전 세계 한민족과 해외 동포를 위한 기도
"여호와께서 너를 지켜 모든 환난을 면하게 하시며 또 네 영혼을 지키시리로다" (시편 121:7).
해외 동포들과 선교사들을 보호하시고, 그들이 있는 곳에서 정체성을 잃지 않고 하나님을 의지하게 하소서.
특히 어려운 환경 속에서도 믿음을 지키며 복음의 사명을 감당하게 하소서.
11. Prayer for the Global Korean Diaspora and Overseas Koreans
"The Lord will keep you from all harm—He will watch over your life." (Psalm 121:7)
Protect overseas Koreans and missionaries, and may they continue to rely on You and not lose their identity wherever they are.
May they remain steadfast in faith, carrying out the mission of the gospel even in difficult circumstances.
12. 북한과 복음 통일을 위한 기도
"주의 성령이 내게 임하셨으니 이는 가난한 자에게 복음을 전하게 하시려고 내게 기름을 부으시고 나를 보내사 포로된 자에게 자유를, 눈먼 자에게 다시 보게 함을 전파하며 눌린 자를 자유롭게 하려 하심이라" (누가복음 4:18).
북한의 주민들에게 자유와 복음의 빛을 비추시고, 억압받는 자들에게 해방을 허락하소서.
한반도의 복음적 평화 통일을 이루시고, 그 땅에도 주님의 나라가 임하게 하소서.
12. Prayer for North Korea and Gospel Unification
"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free." (Luke 4:18)
Shine the light of freedom and the gospel to the people of North Korea, and grant liberation to the oppressed.
May the gospel bring peace and reunification to the Korean Peninsula, and may Your kingdom come to that land as well.
13. 미국을 비롯한 우방국가와 세계 평화를 위한 기도
"화평하게 하는 자는 복이 있나니 그들이 하나님의 아들이라 일컬음을 받을 것임이요" (마태복음 5:9).
전쟁과 분열로 고통받는 세계 곳곳에 평화를 허락하소서. 자유 우방국가간 협력을 돈독하게 하시고, 자유민주주의를 굳건히 지키고, 공산주의, 사회주의를 무기력하게 하시고, 부정부패, 선거부정을 뿌리 뽑게 하소서,
대한민국이 국제사회에서 정의와 평화를 이루는 나라가 되게 하시고, 세계 선교의 중심이 되게 하소서.
13. Prayer for the United States and Allied Nations, and Global Peace
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." (Matthew 5:9)
Grant peace to regions around the world suffering from war and division. Strengthen cooperation among democratic nations and safeguard the principles of freedom and democracy.
May South Korea play a role in fostering justice and peace in the international community and become a central force in world missions.
14. 마무리 기도
"여호와를 의뢰하는 자는 시온 산이 흔들리지 아니하고 영원히 있음 같도다" (시편 125:1).
하나님, 대한민국을 주님의 사랑으로 감싸 주시고, 온 민족이 하나님을 경외하며 주님의 뜻을 따르는 나라가 되게 하소서.
설 명절 동안 주님의 은혜와 사랑이 가득하게 하시고, 우리의 기도를 들어 응답하여 주소서. 로키 마운틴 기슭에서 눈오는 주일에 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도드립니다. 아멘.
14. Closing Prayer
"Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever." (Psalm 125:1)
Lord, embrace South Korea with Your love and may the whole nation revere You and follow Your will.
During this Lunar New Year, may Your grace and love fill our hearts, and hear and answer our prayers. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
