일곱 갑절의 복을 위한 삶
일곱째 날 새벽에 그들이 일찍이 일어나서 전과 같은 방식으로 그 성을 일곱 번 도니 그 성을 일곱 번 돌기는 그 날뿐이었더라. (여호수아 6:15)
7일 아침(낮)입니다.
역사상 가장 이상한 전투 방식으로 대승을 거머쥔 이 사건은 모세의 후계자로서 여호수아가 그 지도력을 증명한 계기가 되었습니다. 수적 열세와 훈련과 장비 부족, 전투력 거의 제로 상태였던 유랑 민족이 용맹한 왕과 용사들로 무장된 성벽을 마주했습니다. 결코 여리지 않고 단단한 여리고성을 함락할 꿈은 엄두조차 낼 수 없는 상황이었습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 하나님의 지시에 따라 여호수아를 필두로 해서 모든 이스라엘 백성이 일사불란하게 움직였습니다. 전투 대형도 필요 없고 군사 작전도 요구되지 않았습니다. 그저 백성들이 길게 줄을 지어 성 주위를 하루에 한 번 도는 것이었습니다. 그러다 마지막 칠일 째에 이르러 제사장들의 나팔소리를 신호로 그들은 일제히 뭔가를 크게 외쳤습니다. 정복하기 힘든 인생의 성채일수록 일찍 일어나 정성으로 돌아야 합니다.
“주님, 지금껏 제 삶은 하루에 한 번씩 성을 두루 도는 것처럼 그다지 특별할 것도 없는 일상의 연속이었습니다. 그런데 어쩌면 내일 아침만은 평소와 다른 아침을 맞이할 것 같습니다. 평소보다 일곱 배를 더 돌아야 하니 더 빨리 몸을 일으켜야 하고 더 크게 소리 질러야 합니다. 일곱 날의 빛과 같은 일곱 배의 햇빛처럼 영육 간에 일곱 갑절의 능력을 부어주시옵소서! 제 곤고함의 날수대로 은혜와 축복으로 채워주옵소서! 일곱 갑절이옵니다.”
7. Life for the sevenfold blessing
On the seventh day, they got up at daybreak and marched around the city seven times in the same manner, except that on that day they circled the city seven times. (Joshua 6:15)
It's morning (daytime) on Day 7.
The victory, won in one of the strangest battles in history, was a testament to Joshua's leadership as Moses' successor. A nomadic people, outnumbered, under-trained, under-equipped, and with almost zero fighting power, faced a walled city armed with a valiant king and his warriors. Never in their wildest dreams had they ever hoped to capture the impregnable city of Jericho. Nevertheless, at God's direction, all the Israelites, led by Joshua, moved in unison. No battle formations were required, no military maneuvers were called for- just a long line of people circling the city once a day. Then, on the seventh and final day, signaled by the priests' trumpets, they shouted something in unison. The harder life's citadels are to conquer, the earlier we must rise and circle them.
"Lord, up until now my life has been a series of routines, nothing too special, like running around the castle once a day. Maybe tomorrow morning is going to be different, because I'm going to have to run seven times as many laps as usual, so I'm going to have to get up faster, and I'm going to have to shout louder. Pour out sevenfold power between my spirit and my flesh, like sevenfold sunlight, like seven days of light! Fill me with grace and blessings according to the number of days of my distress, sevenfold, Lord!"
7. 성막을 제대로 반영하는 삶
매일 아침저녁으로 여호와 앞에 번제를 드리며 분향하며 깨끗한 상에 진설병을 놓고 또 금 등잔대가 있어 그 등에 저녁마다 불을 켜나니 우리는 우리 하나님 여호와의 계명을 지키나 너희는 그를 배반하였느니라. (역대하 13:11)
7일 저녁(밤)입니다.
성막 또는 성전의 기구들을 연상시키는 구절입니다. 동편 출입문을 들어서서 제일 처음 만나는 것이 번제단입니다. 여기서 희생 제사를 드린 후에 물두멍을 지나 성소 안으로 들어가면 좌우편에 각각 금등대와 진설병 상이 놓여 있습니다. 성소에서 지성소 쪽으로 진행하면 지성소를 가린 휘장 중앙에 금향단이 놓여 있습니다. 하루도 거름 없이 조석으로 드리는 번제와 분향 외에도 저녁마다 등잔에 불을 켜는 것은 영원한 규례였습니다. 번제는 예배, 분향은 기도, 등잔불은 말씀을 예표함이라면 우리 각자를 예배자로 부르신 하나님 섬김의 구체적 예가 무엇인지 잘 보여줍니다. 형편과 사정이 있겠지만 할 수 있다면 예배, 기도, 말씀이 매일처럼 행해지고 그것이 아예 거룩한 습관으로 굳어지기를 바랍니다. 그럴 때 스스로 ‘여호와의 계명을 지키는 자’라 자부할 수 있을 것입니다.
“주님! 광야 한 가운데 성막을 두시고 백성들이 드나들며 하나님을 섬겼듯이 저의 삶이 성막 사방에 포진되게 하옵소서! 그래서 번제단을 통하고 금등대와 진설병을 통하게 하옵소서! 다시 금향단을 지나서 지성소의 언약궤에 이르게 하옵소서! 사는 날 동안의 매일 아침과 저녁이 번제단에서 지성소에 이르는 여정이게 하옵소서! 그 모든 과정을 예배와 기도와 말씀으로 충만케 하옵소서!”
7. Life reflecting the tabernacle properly
Every morning and evening they present burnt offerings and fragrant incense to the LORD. They set out the bread on the ceremonially clean table and light the lamps on the gold lampstand every evening. We are observing the requirements of the LORD our God. But you have forsaken him. (2 Chronicles 13:11)
It's evening (night) on Day 7.
The phrase is reminiscent of the tabernacle, or the utensils of the temple. The altar of burnt offering is the first thing you see when you enter the east entrance. After offering a sacrifice here, you'll pass through the water trough and into the sanctuary, where you'll find the golden lampstand and the table of showbread on the left and right, respectively. Proceeding from the sanctuary to the Holy of Holies, you'll find a golden altar of incense in the center of the veil that covers the Holy of Holies. In addition to the burnt offerings and incense, it was an eternal practice to light the menorah every evening. If the burnt offering foreshadows worship, the incense foreshadows prayer, and the menorah foreshadows the Word, then the menorah is a concrete example of the service of the God who calls each of us to be worshippers. I hope that if we could, we would make worship, prayer, and the Word a daily practice, and that it would become a holy habit altogether. Then we will be able to call ourselves "keepers of the commandments of the Lord.
"Lord, place the tabernacle in the middle of the wilderness, and let my life be laid out on all sides of the tabernacle, just as the people went in and out and served God! So let it go through the burnt offering altar, the golden lampstand, and the bread of the Presence! Let us pass through the Golden Incense Altar and reach the Ark of the Covenant of the Holy of Holies! May every morning and evening during my life be a journey from the burnt offering altar to the Holy of Holies! May the entire process be filled with worship, prayer, and the Word!"
