새벽에 여호와께서 불과 구름 기둥 가운데서 애굽 군대를 보시고 애굽 군대를 어지럽게 하시며 그들의 병거 바퀴를 벗겨서 달리기가 어렵게 하시니 애굽 사람들이 이르되 이스라엘 앞에서 우리가 도망하자 여호와가 그들을 위하여 싸워 애굽 사람들을 치는도다. (출애굽기 14:24-25)
5일 아침(낮)입니다.
어린아이들과 노약자들을 포함한 군중들의 행군 속도는 느려질 수밖에 없었습니다. 열 가지 재앙을 통해 애굽 천지는 곡성에 사무쳤지만 선민 이스라엘은 열 가지 기적을 눈으로 보고 귀로 듣고 몸으로 체감하면서 민족 대탈출의 거보를 내디뎠습니다. 뒤늦게 현실의 처참함에 눈을 뜬 애굽의 철기병들은 맹렬한 추격전을 벌였고 분기탱천한 그들 앞에서 이스라엘 백성은 홍해의 배수진을 마주한 상황에 놓였습니다. 애굽 전차에 깔리거나 수장되거나 전혀 구원의 여망은 없었습니다. 절망과 한탄과 원망의 깊은 밤을 보내고 맞이한 막다른 골목 같은 그 새벽녘에 하나님이 나서셨습니다. 간밤에 내 인생 최악의 순간을 경험했을지라도 하나님이 정하신 삶의 루트를 따라가는 한 마지막 절체절명의 순간에 하나님은 반드시 움직이십니다.
“주님! 오늘 어떤 상황이 제 앞에 펼쳐질지 모르지만 불기둥과 구름기둥 사이에서 운행하시는 주님께서 저를 치려는 원수들의 세력을 막으시고 악의 기세를 꺾어주시기를 부탁드립니다. 진정 한 길로 왔다 일곱 길로 도망가는 모습을 바라보게 하옵소서! 부족하지만 그동안 제가 여러 모로 주님을 위한 싸움에 앞장을 섰으니 이제는 주님께서 제 대신 승산 없는 싸움을 대신 싸워주시옵소서! 그런 간절함과 확신 속에서 이 하루를 홀가분히 시작하려 합니다.”
5. Life between the pillar of fire and the pillar of cloud
During the last watch of the night the LORD looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw it into confusion. He made the wheels of their chariots come off so that they had difficulty driving. And the Egyptians said, "Let's get away from the Israelites! The LORD is fighting for them against Egypt." (Exodus 14:24-25)
It's morning (daytime) on Day 5.
The march of the multitudes, which included children and the elderly, was slowed to a crawl. Through the ten plagues, the land of Egypt was plagued with grain, but the people of Israel saw, heard, and felt the miracles of the ten plagues as they set out on their great exodus. The Egyptian iron horsemen, belatedly awakened to the plight of their people, gave chase, and before them, the Israelites found themselves facing the drainage of the Red Sea. There was no hope of being crushed by the Egyptian chariots, drowned in water, and had no hope of redemption at all. It was in that dead-end dawn after a deep night of despair, lamentation, and resentment that God stepped in. You may have experienced the worst moment of your life in the night, but as long as you follow the path God has laid out for you, God is sure to move in your last desperate moments.
"Lord, I don't know what lies ahead of me today, but I ask that you, who travels between the pillar of fire and the pillar of clouds, will stop the forces of my enemies from striking me and break the momentum of evil. May I truly come by one way and see them flee by seven! May I, in so many ways, have fought your battles for you, and now you will fight the unwinnable battles on my behalf! It is with such earnestness and confidence that I begin this day."
5. 여호와의 등불을 밝히는 삶
여호와의 등불은 아직 꺼지지 아니하였으며 사무엘은 하나님의 궤 있는 여호와의 전 안에 누웠더니 여호와께서 사무엘을 부르시는지라 그가 대답하되 내가 여기 있나이다 하고. (사무엘상 3:3-4)
5일 저녁(밤)입니다.
이스라엘 역사의 가장 어두웠던 시대에 성소에 켜둔 여호와의 등불이 꺼지지 않았음은 희망의 보루입니다. 엘리(“하나님은 존귀하심”)가 삶과 사역을 통해 존귀하신 하나님을 제대로 드러내지 못했을 때 이스라엘의 희망이었던 그는 절망덩어리였습니다. 제사장이었던 그가 위기와 혼돈의 시대에 몸을 눕혀도 집이 아닌 성소여야 했습니다. 그가 편안히 집에서 육신의 잠을 청하고 있을 때 어린 소년 사무엘은 성소에 누웠습니다. 그런 그에게 들려온 하나님의 음성은 희망의 작은 불씨 하나를 일으킴이었습니다.
원래 금등대의 등잔은 좌우로 셋, 중앙의 하나 해서 모두 일곱 개가 있어 저녁부터 아침까지 끊이지 않고 켜두었습니다. 이 빛은 등대 앞으로 비취게 했는데 그 앞에는 이스라엘 12지파를 상징하는 진설병이 진열되어 있었습니다. 사무엘이 누웠던 성소 안을 밝힌 등불은 이스라엘을 비추는 영광과 축복의 빛이었습니다.
“주님! 저의 존재와 삶이 비록 보잘 것 없긴 해도 성전 되어 살므로 거룩한 백성을 축복하는 한 줄기 빛이 되게 하옵소서! 제 몸을 성전 삼아 거하시는 주님이 곧 빛이십니다. 그 빛 사그라짐 없이 사방으로 뿌려지는 순결한 통로가 되기 원합니다. 꺼질 수 없는, 꺼져선 안 될 하나의 빛이기를 소원합니다. 천상의 빛을 받은 성전의 등불로 제 삶을 세우시고 환히 비춰주소서!”
5. Life illuminating the lamp of Jehovah
The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was. Then the LORD called Samuel. Samuel answered, "Here I am." (1 Samuel 3:3-4)
It's evening (night) on Day 5.
In the darkest days of Israel's history, the unquenchable light of Jehovah's lamp in the sanctuary was a bulwark of hope. When Eli ("God is honorable") failed to reflect the honorable God through his life and ministry, he, the hope of Israel, became a bundle of despair. As a priest, his place to lay down in times of crisis and chaos should have been in the sanctuary, not at home. While he was in the comfort of his home, sleeping in his body, the young boy Samuel lay in the sanctuary. God's voice to him sparked a tiny spark of hope.
The original golden lighthouse had seven lamps-three on each side and one in the center-that burned continuously from evening to morning. The light was directed to the front of the lighthouse, where vases representing the 12 tribes of Israel were displayed. The light that illuminated the sanctuary where Samuel lay was a light of glory and blessing that shone upon Israel.
"Lord! Even though my existence and life are insignificant, let me live as a temple and become a ray of light that blesses the holy people! The Lord who dwells in my body as a temple is the light. I want to be a pure passage that is sprayed everywhere without the light being faded. I hope that it will be a light that cannot and must not be turned off. Build and shine my life with the lamp of the temple that has received the light of heaven.“
