아침에 주의 인자하심이 우리를 만족하게 하사 우리를 일생 동안 즐겁고 기쁘게 하소서! (시편 90:14)

19일 아침(낮)입니다.

아침 첫 시간에 대하는 것이 일생을 좌우한다면 무엇을 마주하고 싶습니까? 사람마다 같지 않겠지만 진정 하나님 한 분만으로 만족하는 이라면 뭔가 구별된 것이어야 하지 않을까 생각해봅니다. 돈에 환장한 사람은 잠자리에 들어서도 돈 꿈을 꾸고 정신이 나면 돈 벌 생각에 아이디어를 총동원하고 힘과 정성을 다하여 분투노력합니다. 모처럼 성경을 펼쳐도 물질의 축복에 관한 성구를 뒤적이기 바쁠 것입니다. 허탄한 일입니다. 성경이 내리는 결론입니다. “은을 사랑하는 자는 은으로 만족하지 못하고 풍요를 사랑하는 자는 소득으로 만족하지 아니하나니 이것도 헛되도다.”(전 5:10)

명예도, 권세도, 인간이 최우선적 가치를 두는 모든 것들도 다를 것이 없습니다. 실로 파란만장한 삶을 보내었던 하나님의 사람 모세는 통찰력 있는 기도로 우리의 정신을 번쩍 들게 만듭니다. 인간을 만족시키는 것은 '하나님의 인자'입니다. “다함없는 사랑”이란 뜻입니다. 내가 어느 날 한 자락의 그림자도 없는 “하나님의 인자”를 대한다면 그 인자가 내 남은 삶을 풍족하게 이끌 것입니다. 환경을 뛰어넘는 즐거움과 기쁨이 용솟음칠 것입니다. 그래서 많은 시편 기자들은 여호와의 영원하신 인자를 목이 터져라 노래했습니다.

“주님! 주님의 인자가 아침에 눈을 뜬 제 동공을 빛처럼 덮으시고 겉옷처럼 입히게 하옵소서! 그래서 온종일 주님의 인애와 자비에 젖게 하옵소서! 때로는 새벽이슬처럼 고요하게, 때로는 이슬비처럼 부드럽게, 때로는 폭우처럼 세차게 임하옵소서! 그래서 평생의 슬픔과 고통을 모두 날려버릴 천상의 희락을 맛보아 알게 하옵소서! 아침에 돋는 풀처럼 주님의 인자는 제 삶을 그득 채웁니다.”

19. Life tasting the eternal kindness

Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. (Psalms 90:14)

It's morning (daytime) on Day 19.

If the first hour of your morning determined the rest of your life, what would you want to face? I'm sure it's not the same for everyone, but I think it would have to be something different for someone who is truly content with God alone. Someone who is obsessed with money dreams about it when they go to bed, and when they wake up, they throw all their ideas and energy into making money. You could crack open a Bible at will and you'd still be busy scouring scriptures about the blessings of money. It's a shame. The Bible concludes. "The lover of silver is not satisfied with silver, and the lover of riches is not satisfied with income; these are all in vain." (Ecclesiastes 5:10)

It's no different with honor, power, and all the things that humans place the highest value on. Moses, a man of God with a tumultuous life, stirs our spirit with his insightful prayer. It is God's 'unfailing love' that satisfies us. It means "love that never fails." If I wake up one day to the "endless mercy of God," that mercy will carry me through the rest of my life. I will be filled with pleasure and joy that surpasses my circumstances. That's why so many psalmists have sung at the top of their lungs about the Lord's everlasting mercy.

"Lord, let your mercy cover my pupils like a light when I open my eyes in the morning, and clothe me like a robe, so that all day long I may be bathed in your love and mercy. Sometimes it comes as quietly as the dawn, sometimes it comes as gently as a drizzle, sometimes it comes as hard as a downpour, so that I may taste and know the heavenly joy that will blow away all the sorrow and pain of my life. Like the grass that springs up in the morning, your mercy fills my life."

19일 저녁(밤)입니다.

낮이 우리에게 주는 것은 따스함과 밝음 그리고 생명의 약동과 삶의 분주함 등입니다. 홀로 걷는 걸음이라면 감당키 어려운 시간들입니다. 우리에게 낮을 주관하시는 하나님이 계신 건 더할 나위없는 축복이요 은혜입니다. 이에 비해 밤은 우리에게 두려움과 무지 그리고 일시 중단과 쉼을 안겨줍니다. 같은 침대를 쓰면서도 다른 꿈을 꾸는 ‘동상이몽’의 현실은 우리가 매일 겪는 이질감입니다. 우리가 의식과 무의식의 경계선에 매복한 잠재의식에게 편안함을 느끼는 것도 밤을 주관하시는 하나님이 함께 하시기 때문입니다. 내 삶의 양지를 위해 해를 준비하시고 내 삶의 음지를 위해 달과 별들을 예비하신 하나님의 세밀하신 보살핌은 우리가 안심하고 자고 깰 수 있는 근거입니다.

살면서 인생의 양지에서 빛을 많이 쪼인 사람은 풍부한 활력의 비타민 D 까닭에 밝게 살아가겠지만, 세상에는 삶의 전 과정을 통해 양지보다 침울하고 음습한 음지의 기운에 차갑게 살아가는 이가 더 많습니다. 아, 하나님의 인자하심이 없다면 나와 당신의 삶은 저 사막보다 더 황량하고 지옥보다 나을 것 없는 현실일 것입니다. 다행이 영원하신 하나님의 인자가 햇빛이나 달빛, 별빛보다 더 확실하고 강한 능력으로 우리 모두를 감싸십니다.

“주님! 이 밤이 아무리 어둡고 힘들어도 저는 괘념치 않습니다. 주님을 바라보는 저의 시선은 아직 선명합니다. 임재와 동행에 대한 저의 의식도 또렷합니다. 그렇습니다. 저의 영혼과 육신은 주님의 인자함 속에서 무탈할 것입니다. 그래서 도리어 감사가 솟구칩니다. 주님, 사랑합니다. 예수 나의 주시여!”

19. Life sensing tranquility in the obscurity

The sun to govern the day, His love endures forever. The moon and stars to govern the night; His love endures forever. (Psalms 136:8-9)

It's evening (night) on Day 19.

Daylight brings us warmth, light, and the hustle and bustle of life. If we were walking alone, these would be difficult times. We are blessed and graced to have a God who is in control of the day. Night, on the other hand, brings us fear, ignorance, suspension, and rest. The reality of "lucid dreaming," where we sleep in the same bed but have different dreams, is something we experience every day. The reason we feel comfortable with our subconscious minds ambushing us on the borderline of consciousness and unconsciousness is that God is in control of the night. God's meticulous care in preparing the sun for the positive aspects of our lives and the moon and stars for the negative aspects of our lives is the reason we can sleep and wake with confidence.

A person who has squeezed a lot of light from the yang side of his life will live brightly because of the abundant vitamin D in his vitality, but there are many more people in the world who, through the whole course of their lives, are chilled by the gloomy and dreary aura of the yin side than the yang side. Oh, if it weren't for God's mercy, my life and yours would be a reality more barren than that desert and no better than hell. Fortunately, the eternal mercy of God surrounds us all with a power more sure and strong than sunlight, moonlight, or starlight.

"Lord! No matter how dark and difficult this night is, I don't care. My eyes looking at the Lord are still clear. My consciousness of presence and accompany is also clear. That's right. My soul and body will be safe in your mercy. So gratitude springs up. I love you, Lord, Jesus my Lord!“
