24일 아침(낮)입니다.

하나님은 결코 자기 백성을 버리지 않으십니다. 오랜 침묵 끝에도 반드시 말씀하시며 과정은 힘겹고 어려워도 좋은 결말을 주십니다. “보라 인내하는 자를 우리가 복되다 하나니 너희가 욥의 인내를 들었고 주께서 주신 결말을 보았거니와 주는 가장 자비하시고 긍휼히 여기는 자시니라.”(약 5:11) 과연 그렇습니다. 모든 것이 합력하여 선을 이루게 하시는 것은 하나님의 방식입니다. 자기 백성이 입은 상처를 싸매시고 매 맞은 자리를 고치시는 것은 주님의 한결같은 의지요 권능입니다. 하나님이 우리의 억울함을 신원하는 그날이 되면, 영혼과 삶에 온전한 회복이 이루어지는 그때가 되면 형언할 수 없는 영광의 시간이 펼쳐질 것입니다. 달빛 인생은 햇빛의 밝음으로 빛나고 하루치 햇빛의 광채는 일곱 날의 광채에 걸맞은 칠갑절의 축복에 거하게 될 것입니다.

“주님, 많이 아프지만 참고 견디겠습니다. 치욕적인 구타를 연신 당하고 그로 인한 육체와 마음의 고통이 극심하지만 하나님이 주시는 결말을 믿음으로 그리며 당할 만큼 당하렵니다. 대역전의 그 순간이 다가왔을 때 저의 수치가 제거되고 고난이 끝났다는 사실 자체보다 그 지겨운 삶의 현장에 계시면서 숨죽여 바라보시고 눈물지으셨을 주님을 와락 안으렵니다. 저도 참겠지만 주님도 그때까지 잘 견뎌주시길 빕니다. 그래서 수욕이 한순간에 영광으로 탈바꿈하는 정경을 세상이 지켜보게 하옵소서! 원수로 영원히 부끄럽게 만드소서!”

24. Life of resilience brimming with joy

The moon will shine like the sun, and the sunlight will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven full days, when the LORD binds up the bruises of his people and heals the wounds he inflicted. (Isaiah 30:26)

It's morning (daytime) on Day 24.

God never abandons his people. Even after long periods of silence, He always speaks, and even when the process is painful and difficult, He gives a good ending. "Behold, blessed are those who endure: for ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end which the Lord gave him: for the Lord is most merciful and compassionate." (James 5:11) Indeed. It is God's way that all things work together for good. It is His steadfast will and power to bind up the wounds of His people and bind up the beatings. When the day comes that God identifies our injustice, when full restoration is made to our souls and lives, there will be a time of unspeakable glory. Our moonlight life will shine with the brightness of sunlight, and we will dwell in the blessings of seventy days, with the brilliance of one day's sunlight matched by the brightness of seven days.

"Lord, it hurts a lot, but I'll endure it; I'll endure the humiliating beatings and the physical and emotional pain they cause. I'll take what I can get, trusting in the ending you'll give me. When the moment of reckoning arrives, I will not be so much concerned with the fact that my shame has been removed and my suffering is over. But with the Lord, who must have watched with bated breath and wept over the scene of my tortured life. I will bear it, but may thou bear it well till then, so that the world may witness the scene of my transformation from shame to glory in a moment, and put my enemies to shame for ever!"

24일 저녁(밤)입니다.

자신이 꾼 꿈을 알 길 없어 느브갓네살은 바벨론의 모든 지혜자들을 죽이려는 명령을 내렸습니다. 다니엘과 세 친구도 학살 명부에 들어 있었습니다. 그 밤의 기도 중에 다니엘은 환상을 통해 꿈의 내용과 해석을 알게 되었습니다. 다니엘은 깊고 은밀한 일을 나타내시는 하나님을 높이 찬양했습니다. 흔치 않지만 이 특별한 은혜는 간혹 기도자에게 임합니다. 뇌에 이상을 주시고 마음에 예지로 임하십니다. 헝클어진 생각의 매듭들을 풀어주시며 입술에 적합한 단어를 새겨주십니다.

아무리 깊은 바다에 숨겼어도 찾아내고 칠만 길의 깊은 심연 속에 갇혔어도 빛의 알맹이를 끄집어내시는 분은 계시자이신 하나님이십니다. 죄로 인해 지각의 영이 사라진 인간은 눈앞의 일도 알지 못하고 찌그러진 지식의 파편들로 만족해하지만 죄에서 벗어난 의의 백성에겐 지혜와 계시의 영이 임하고 정돈된 사고의 틀이 형성되고 섬세한 학자의 혀가 동합니다.

“주님, 다니엘에게 주셨던 통찰력, 사람, 사건, 사물의 핵심과 본질을 꿰뚫어 아는 능력을 사모합니다. 어디에도 견줄 수 없는 지성을 구합니다. 주머니의 송곳처럼 감출 수 없는 탁월한 지혜를 허락해 주시옵소서! 지혜의 원천이신 하나님, 앎의 총합인 그 빛 가운데 늘 거하기 원합니다. 밤일수록 그 지혜의 빛이 마냥 그립습니다.”

24. Life abundant with excellence

He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him. (Daniel 2:22)

It's evening (night) on Day 24.

Unable to understand his dream, Nebuchadnezzar issued an order to kill all the wise men of Babylon. Daniel and his three friends were on the kill list. During that night of prayer, Daniel received a vision in which he learned the content and interpretation of his dream. Daniel praised God highly for revealing deep and secret things. This special grace, though uncommon, sometimes comes upon the prayers. It comes as a vision in the brain and a foreknowledge in the heart. He untangles the knots of tangled thoughts and puts the right words on the lips.

It is God, the Revealer, who retrieves a ray of light when it is hidden in the deepest ocean, and draws it out when it is trapped in the abyss of seventy thousand miles. Man, whose spirit of perception has been taken away by sin, knows not what is before his eyes, and is content with the fragments of knowledge that have been crushed; but to the people of righteousness, who are free from sin, the spirit of wisdom and revelation comes, and orderly thoughts are framed, and the tongue of the delicate scholar is animated.

"Lord, I long for the insight you gave to Daniel, the ability to see through to the heart and essence of people, events, and situations. I ask for an intellect like no other. Give me wisdom that is as unrivaled as the awl in my pocket! God, the source of wisdom, I want to dwell in that light, the sum total of knowledge, at all times. At night, I long for the light of that wisdom."
