28일 아침(낮)입니다.

지금이야말로 역사상 가장 어두운 때라고 말들 하지만 종말론적 관점에서 가장 깊은 밤은 아직 이르지 않았습니다. 아직은 낮이 힘을 다 잃지 않은 때입니다. 재기와 역전의 가능성이 남아 있고 회복과 갱신의 여지도 분명합니다. 영원히 빛 가운데 거하신 하나님은 잠이 없으신 대신 부지런히 일하십니다. 창조의 대업 이후로 하나님의 사역은 지금도 진행됩니다. 낮에 속한 자로서 빛의 아들이기에 저도 일하고 있습니다. 먹고 살기 위해서가 아니라 영혼을 얻는 싸움에 자신을 허비하면서까지 일하고 있습니다. 하나님나라와 교회는 늘 일군을 부릅니다. 마지막 추수 때에 하나님은 하늘의 추수꾼인 천사와 함께 알곡 영혼을 천국 곳간에 들일 일군 중의 일군, 종 중의 종을 기다리십니다.

“주님, 저를 일군 삼아주시니 감사드립니다. 이 귀하고 거룩한 사명을 온전히 감당할 수 있도록 지혜와 권능으로 함께 하여 주시옵소서! 일을 벌이는 말썽꾼이나 팔짱 끼고 방관하는 구경꾼들이 득시글거리는 중에 일에 살고 일에 죽는 일군으로 부지런하게 하옵소서! 열심은 제게 있으나 능력은 하나님이 주십니다. 파종의 수고는 저의 몫이오나 수확의 축복은 주님 손에 달려 있습니다. 인생의 마지막 밤이 이르기 전에 해야 할 일을 마무리해 가도록 저를 다독여 주옵소서!”

28. Life of sowing and harvesting

As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. (John 9:4)

It's morning (daytime) on Day 28.

They say this is the darkest time in history, but in apocalyptic terms, the deepest night is yet to come. The day has not yet lost its power. The possibility of rebirth and reversal remains, and the room for restoration and renewal is clear. God, who has dwelt in the light forever, does not sleep but works diligently. Since the great work of creation, God's work is ongoing. As one who belongs to the day, as a son of the light, I too work. Not just to earn a living, but to the point of throwing myself into the battle to win souls. The kingdom of God and the church are always calling for laborers. At the time of the final harvest, God is waiting for a laborer, a servant among servants, who will join the angels, the heavenly harvesters, in bringing souls into the heavenly places.

"Lord, I thank you for raising me up. Be with me in wisdom and strength so that I may fully fulfill this precious and holy mission! Let me be diligent as a laborer who lives to work and dies to work, in the midst of troublemakers and armchair onlookers! The zeal is mine, but the power comes from God. The labor of sowing is mine, but the blessing of the harvest is in your hand. Help me to finish what needs to be done before the last night of my life comes!"

28일 저녁(밤)입니다.

우리 시간으로 유대인들은 오전 9시, 정오, 오후 3시에 정기적으로 기도했습니다. 하루의 마지막 기도 시간에 베드로와 요한은 미문 앞의 걸인을 만났고 은금보다 귀한 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 앉은뱅이를 일으켰습니다. 해질 무렵의 시간을 하루의 시작으로 삼은 유대인들에게 오후 3시는 저녁에 가까운 시간입니다. ‘미문’ 앞에서 앉은뱅이로 구걸을 일삼던 이가 사람들에게는 ‘추한 운명’의 아이콘으로 보였겠지만 기도하는 사람에겐 구원받을 영혼이었습니다. 기도로 열고 기도로 닫는 하루의 가장자리인 이 저녁에 오늘 남은 시간이 지닌 엄청난 가치와 무게를 깊이 음미하며 지내렵니다.

“주님! 단순히 어제와 내일을 이음이 아니라 과거와 미래의 혈액이 제대로 순환되게 하는 하루의 삶이었기를 비는 마음입니다. 제대로 살아보겠노라 애쓴 이 육체에 쉼을 통한 새 힘이 충분히 공급되게 하옵소서! 낮에 흐르는 화살이 두렵지 않듯 밤의 공포도 놀랍지 않습니다. 왜냐하면 낮도 주의 것이요 밤도 주의 것이기 때문입니다. 주님의 생명 싸개 안에 보호받는 존재이기에 하나님은 천군천사를 보내어 살피시며 불말과 불병거로 저의 장막을 두루 돌게 하십니다. 주님의 강한 팔에 의지해 이 밤도 지나가기 원합니다.”

28. Life cultivating the courage of the soul

One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer- at three in the afternoon. Now a man crippled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. (Acts 3:1-2)

It's evening (night) on Day 28.

In our time, Jews prayed regularly at 9 a.m., noon, and 3 p.m. At the last prayer time of the day, Peter and John encountered the beggar at the Beautiful Gate and lifted him up in the name of Jesus Christ, who was more precious than silver and gold. For Jews, whose day began at dusk, 3 p.m. is close to evening. The beggar at ‘the Beautiful Gate’ may have been an icon of ‘an ugly fate’ to those who saw him, but to those who prayed, he was a soul to be saved. On this evening, at the edge of a day that opens with prayer and closes with prayer, let's spend some time savoring the immense value and weight of the time we have left today.

"Lord, I pray that my life may not be merely yesterday and tomorrow, but that it may be one day's life in which the blood of the past and the future may be properly circulated. May this body, which has strived to live properly, be well supplied with new strength through rest! As I am not afraid of the arrows that fly by day, so I am not surprised by the terrors of the night, for the day is yours and the night is also yours. I am protected in the bundle of the living by the Lord my God. You send your angels to watch over me, and with horses of fire and chariots of fire to go around my tabernacle. I want to lean on your strong arm to get me through this night."
