20일 아침(낮)입니다.

<왕의 시편>으로 알려진 이 시에서 다윗은 공의로운 통치자이신 하나님처럼 의로운 군주의 길을 걷겠다고 천명합니다. 그의 결기에 찬 다짐은 마지막 절에서 절정을 이룹니다. 아침부터 피를 보겠다는 것입니다. 악행자들을 성전에서 모조리 척결하겠다는 공포입니다. 성전 청결을 위해 아침에 피를 보면 오후에 영광으로 채워질 것입니다. 그런 피라면 새벽부터 정오까지 칼이 손바닥에 달라붙도록 적들을 쳤던 용사 엘르아살을 닮겠습니다. 오호장군의 하나였던 조자룡을 어려서부터 애호해서 그런지 다윗의 세 용사 중에서도 두 번째였던 그가 영적 전쟁의 현실에서는 저의 로망입니다.

어쨌든 진정한 문제는 제가 처단할 악행자들이 세상에 넘쳐남보다 제 안에 남겨진 악의 기세가 예사롭지 않다는 것입니다. 할 수 있다면 저의 칼날로 제 속을 도려내게 도와주시옵소서! 이것이 절멸되지 않으면 의의 이름으로 수행할 칼부림이라 해도 자랑스럽지 않을 것입니다. 거룩이란 악으로부터 멀어짐일진대, 그렇게 해서 본래의 모습을 되찾아 지키는 것이라면 하나님의 통치를 따르려는 제게 먼저 마음의 순결, 의도의 순수함, 행위의 순전함이 이루어지게 하옵소서! 주님! 저보다 악한 인간들일지라도 제가 하나님 앞에서 의에 결격사유를 보인다면 그들보다 나을 것이 없습니다. 의의 결행자이기에 악인이라 일컬어지는 사람들에 비해 그 기준은 높고 적용은 칼날 같아야 한다고 생각합니다.

“주님! 이 아침에 저의 마음과 생각에서 악이 모조리 물러가게 하옵소서! 악은 그림자라도 얼씬거리지 못하게 도말해 주십시오! 한 티끌도 용납할 수 없사오니 주님 저를 도와주옵소서! 저의 행위에서 악한 기운이 스며나지 않도록 의식과 동기의 안팎을 점검해 주십시오! 저의 주변에 악한 동무가 모여들지 않게 두루 도는 화염검도 둘러쳐 주십시오! 거룩함이 궁창처럼 제 삶과 영혼을 휘감게 하옵소서!”

20. Life of purity where evil is removed

Every morning I will put to silence all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer from the city of the LORD. (Psalms 101:8)

It's morning (daytime) on Day 20.

<In this poem, known as the "King's Psalm," David vows to walk in the ways of a righteous monarch, like God, a just ruler. His resolve culminates in the final verse. He declares that he will see blood in the morning: he will purge the temple of all evil-doers. If I see blood in the morning for the sake of temple cleansing, I will be filled with glory in the afternoon. With such blood, I will resemble Eleazar, the warrior who struck his enemies from dawn to noon so that his sword stuck to his palm. Maybe it's because I have a childhood crush on Zhao Zi-long, one of five great generals of Shu Dynasty, China, the second of David's three champions, and in the realities of spiritual warfare, Eleazar is my hero.

In any case, the real problem is not so much the abundance of evil-doers in the world for me to slay, but the momentum of evil left within me. Help me, if you can, to cut it out of me with the edge of my sword! If it is not exterminated, I will not be proud of the stroke, even if it is performed in the name of righteousness. If holiness is to be a turning away from evil, and if that is what it is to be, then let there first be purity of heart, purity of intention, and purity of deed in my attempt to follow the rule of God! Lord, even those who are worse than me are no better than I am if I am disqualified for righteousness in the sight of God. As a practitioner of righteousness, I feel that the standard should be high and the application should be like a sword compared to those who are called wicked.

"Lord, this morning, let all evil be banished from my heart and mind! Let evil be smeared so that not even a shadow of it can creep in! Let my consciousness and motives be checked inside and out, so that no evil energy seeps out of my actions! Let my circling flaming sword be surrounded so that no evil comrades gather around me! Let holiness surround my life and soul like the firmament."

20일 저녁(밤)입니다.

캄캄함이 내 삶을 뒤덮어 곤고함이 극에 달했을 때 영혼을 감싸던 빛마저 흑암에 파묻히게 되면 짧은 순간이라도 그 지독한 상황을 벗어나기란 사실 불가능합니다. 흑암은 모든 것을 감추고 숨깁니다. 그런데 빛의 본체이신 주님 앞에서는 어떤 어둠도 피하여 숨을 수 없습니다. 밝고 어두움은 한 사람이 경험하는 광도의 크기에 따라 구분되는 표현입니다. 완전한 빛 앞에서는 모든 어둠이 드러납니다. 티끌보다 작은 어둠에서부터 블랙홀보다 더 거대한 어둠이라 할지라도 낱낱이 드러나 보입니다. 흑암과 빛이 같다 말할 수 있음은 빛에 의해 어둠이 녹아들고 사라지기 때문입니다. 빛과 어둠이 충돌할 때 빛이 괴멸되는 것이 아니라 어둠이 산산조각 납니다. 주님의 빛 앞에는 어떤 어둠도 존재하지 못합니다.

“주님! 빛의 자녀가 되었으니 빛의 능력을 제대로 알아 더이상 어둠의 농간에 일희일비하지 않도록 저를 붙들어 주옵소서! 삶이 빛의 환경이면 찬양케 하시며 짙은 어둠이 지속되면 여전히 비추시는 빛의 은혜에 감사하며 어둠이 사라지기까지 기도하는 법을 배우게 하옵소서! 도단성을 둘러싼 아람 군대의 숫자보다 더 많은 천군이 그들을 오히려 포위하고 있음을 엘리사의 종이 열린 눈으로 바라보았듯이 천 겹의 어둠이 내 삶을 뒤덮으면 만 겹의 빛이 내 삶의 원방에 이르기까지 둘러쳐짐을 믿음의 눈으로 바라보게 하옵소서!”

20. Life finding light even in darkness

If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me," even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. (Psalms 139:11-12)

It's evening (night) on Day 20.

When darkness envelops your life and the light that once enveloped your soul at the height of your distress is buried in blackness, it is virtually impossible to escape, even for a brief moment. Darkness conceals and hides everything, but before the Lord, who is the very essence of light, no darkness can escape and hide. Balgo Darkness is a distinction based on the magnitude of lightness a person experiences. In the presence of perfect light, all darkness is exposed. From darkness smaller than a speck of dust to darkness more massive than a black hole, it's all there. We can say that darkness and light are the same because darkness is dissolved and dissipated by light. When light and darkness collide, the light is not destroyed, but the darkness is shattered. No darkness can exist before the light of the Lord.

"Lord, now that I am a child of the light, keep me so that I may know the power of the light and no longer walk in the valley of darkness; when life is a circumstance of light, let me praise it; when dense darkness persists, let me thank the grace of the light that still shines, and learn to pray until the darkness is dispelled! As Elisha's servant saw with open eyes that there was a heavenly army that outnumbered the Aramean army that surrounded the city of Dothan, so may I see with eyes of faith that if a thousand layers of darkness envelop my life, ten thousand layers of light surround it to the far corners!"
