22일 아침(낮)입니다.

파수꾼은 홀로 높은 망루에 서서 온 밤을 깨어 주위 사방을 살핍니다. 적의 침투를 막고 공격 낌새를 보면 알려 성안 주민들로 하여금 대비케 합니다. 그들은 사명감 때문에 깨어 있지만 육신은 피곤하기 그지없습니다. 그들이 아침을 기다리는 것은 쉴 수 있기 때문입니다. 그런데 파수하는 그런 정성으로 밤을 지새운 다른 무리가 있습니다. 그들은 기도의 사람들입니다. 남이 편히 쉬고 있을 때 그들은 오히려 기도의 등불을 밝힙니다. 자신들의 영성 증진을 위한 목적도 있겠지만 사랑하는 이들을 위해, 어둠 속에서 빛의 은총이 필요한 영혼들을 위해 그들은 기쁨으로 이 일에 자신을 드립니다.

그런데 그들이 기다리는 것은 안식이 있는 아침이 아닙니다. 주님입니다. 그토록 사모하는 주님이 한밤중에라도 나타나기를, 새벽의 첫 빛에 임하기를 고대합니다. 어느 순간에라도 뵈옵기를 밤낮 사모하며 기다립니다. 그것이 주님께 속한 사람이, 주님의 순결한 신부가 주님과 맺은 관계의 실상입니다. 내 평생 걸어온 길을 뒤돌아보며 때마다 일마다 함께 하신 흔적이 기념비처럼 우뚝 솟아 있습니다. 에벤에셀의 그 하나님이 가장 안전하고 은혜로운 길로 이끄실 것을 알기에 주를 사모하고 기다림은 고통이 아니라 희락이요 진정한 기쁨의 원천입니다.

“주님, 주님이 아니 뵈어도 주님의 임재가 너무 확실해서 부재의 그 많은 시간들도 견딜 수 있지만 때로는 주님 얼굴이 사뭇 그립습니다. 말씀의 임재로도 만족하고 꿈속의 현현도 기쁘오나 세키나 그 영광의 임재와 현현은 정말 놀랍고 기이한 은총입니다. 지나가는 바람처럼 살짝 제 영혼을 스치시며 새벽에 내리는 이슬처럼 제 영혼에 그 은혜로 덮으소서! 더욱 그리운 마음으로 주님 바라며 이 거친 땅을 뚜벅뚜벅 걸어가겠습니다.”

22. Life of vigilant waiting with anticipation

My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. (Psalms 130:6)

It's morning (daytime) on Day 22.

The watchman stands alone on a high watchtower, awake all night, watching all around him. They keep the enemy at bay and alert the city's inhabitants at the first sign of an attack. They stay awake because of their duty, but their bodies are tired. They wait for the morning so they can rest. But there is another group of people who spend their nights on watch. They are the people of prayer. When others are resting, they light their lamps of prayer. Perhaps for their own spirituality, but for the sake of their loved ones, for the sake of souls in need of the grace of light in the darkness, they joyfully give themselves to this work.

But it is not the morning of rest that they wait for. They wait for Him to appear in the middle of the night, or at the first light of dawn. They wait with longing day and night to see you at any moment; that is the reality of the relationship that one who belongs to the Lord, the chaste bride of the Lord, has with Him. As I look back over the paths I've traveled throughout my life, the marks of His presence in each and every one of them stand out like monuments. Waiting on the Lord is not a pain, but a pleasure, a source of true joy, knowing that the same God of Ebenezer will lead me in the safest and most gracious way.

"Lord, even when you are not there, your presence is so sure that I can bear all those hours of absence, but sometimes I long for your face. I am satisfied with the presence of your Word. I am glad of Your manifestations in dreams. But the presence and manifestation of your glory, Shekinah, is such a marvelous and wondrous grace. Gently touch my soul like a passing wind. Cover my soul with that grace like the dew that falls at dawn! With a more longing heart, I will tread this rough earth in the hope of you."

22일 저녁(밤)입니다.

빛을 좋아하고 어둠을 싫어하지만 빛과 어둠은 한 번도 거르지 않고 찾아옵니다. 어둠이 절망과 고통의 때를 상징한다면 지금 에돔은 하나님의 심판 아래 놓인 어둠의 땅입니다. 세일의 방문자가 질문을 던집니다. 밤이 어찌 되었는지, 동이 트려면 얼마나 더 기다려야 하는지를 묻습니다. 밤의 지독함을 벗어나고픈 열망이 가득 차 있습니다. 파수꾼은 새벽이 도래를 전합니다. 동시에 또 다른 밤이 다가올 것을 말합니다.

심판의 어둠을 부르는 것은 죄입니다. 죄에서 완전히 격리되기 전에는 언제든 죄가 머무는 곳에 어둠도 깃듭니다. 천 번 만 번 물어도 답변은 동일합니다. 정답은 주어졌으니 묻고 싶으면 언제든 또 물으라고 말합니다. 동일한 질문에는 동일한 답변이 있을 뿐입니다. 삶이 변해야 질문이 달라지고 해답이 달라집니다. 삶에서 밤을 그치게 하고 싶으면 돌아오는 길밖에 없습니다. 의의 길로, 하나님께로 돌아와야 합니다.

“주님! 죄로 인한 심판의 밤은 이제 족하옵니다. 이제는 넉넉한 아침의 햇살로 제 삶의 지경을 비춰주시옵소서! 주님께 온전히 돌이키오니 빛과의 동행을 기뻐하게 하소서! 돌이키지 않는 완고한 영혼들에게 빛이 주는 안온함과 포근함을 깨닫게 해 주옵소서! 원만한 광명 안에서 제 빛의 광도를 키워 주시옵소서! 그렇게 저를 빛의 전도체로 삼아주시옵소서!”

22. Life delighting in the journey with light

The watchman replies, "Morning is coming, but also the night. If you would ask, then ask; and come back yet again." (Isaiah 21:12)

It's evening (night) on Day 22.

We love light and hate darkness, but light and darkness come without skipping a beat. If darkness symbolizes times of despair and suffering, then right now Edom is a land of darkness under God's judgment. Sale's visitors ask questions. He asks what happened to the night and how much longer he must wait for dawn. He is eager to escape the bitterness of the night. The watchman announces the arrival of dawn. At the same time, he announces the coming of another night.

It is sin that brings the darkness of judgment, and until we are completely separated from sin, darkness will always dwell where sin dwells. If you ask a question a thousand times, the answer is the same. We say that the answer is given, and you can ask again as many times as you want. The same question only has the same answer. It is only when your life changes that the question changes and the answer changes. If you want the night to stop in your life, there is only one way to return. You must return to the path of righteousness, to God.

"Lord, I have had enough of the night of judgment for my sins. Now, please illuminate the borders of my life with the ample sunlight of the morning! Let me rejoice in the accompaniment of the light! Please help me realize the comfort and warmth that light gives to stubborn souls who do not turn back! Please increase the brightness of my light in the harmonious light! So please make me a conductor of light!“
